Weekly Flow
Each week is definitely an adventure and new ideas and projects occur each time out. However, it’s good to have a rough flow to the week so that the kids have an opportunity to finish their projects by Friday.
Monday
- This is a day of introductions and icebreakers.
- An opening Mini-Project is a great way for the kids to get to know one another.
- Set the stage for the week by giving the kids a demonstration of the software and providing them time to work on a Mini-Project related to the software.
Tuesday
- A big “pre-production” day. On Tuesday, the kids should work on storyboarding their project first thing when camp begins.
- Mapping out a production schedule can be helpful on Tuesdays.
- Going on a location scout is a good idea for movie making camps this day.
Wednesday
- By Wednesday, the projects are in full swing and the kids have taken over a bit.
- The job of the Lead Producers here is to assist each team in finishing what they started and planning for the remainder of the week.
Thursday
- The teams should be in post-production mode and really working on finishing their projects.
- Some may need breaks, so side projects or other available activities are good to have on hand.
Friday
- The race to the finish line. Some may finish early and some may run right up to the end.
