    About Us

Tom founded Digital Kids World as a way to provide kids with opportunities to use technology to inspire their creativity. As a fourth and fifth grade teacher in Colorado, he noticed how active and involved his kids were when they were able to use technology to complete projects. Later, while working for Pearson Digital Learning, Tom was able to work on a team that developed a product called KnowledgeBox that aimed at providing elementary students and teachers with digital media to enhance their learning opportunities. While working with on this project, the idea of getting kids more actively involved in the creation of digital media projects began.

The "boys" at this year's PGA practice round...Our program began as a Summer Camp program in the Phoenix area. Over the course of three summers, we were able to develop and refine our camp offering. We started with various movie making projects and then began to add various other digital media projects such as comic book creations and video game design. Throughout the process, our customers have given us tremendously positive feedback. These developmental years led to another venture at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa where we have built a program aimed at resort guests.

Our mission remains the same - we want kids to get inspired to creatively build projects using technology. Our experience and expertise has been poured into the programs we now offer for other institutions and organizations to run independently. By giving schools and other organizations the tools and knowledge to run our camp programs themselves, we hope to reach many more kids and continue to inspire and nurture their natural creativity.

This has truly been a family venture from the beginning, and our two sons have loved every minute of being involved in the evolution of Digital Kids World. They are both excellent producers of movies and designers of video games - and the skills learned during their projects will help them throughout their lives!
