Probably more than they would from memorizing the historical facts surrounding it for a test. This is a great example of creating and producing a digital media project to enhance real learning. Great use of technology integration into the classroom! Way to go Animation Chefs!
Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 03:24PM Project Based Learning (PBL) allows for rich, memorable learning experiences for kids of all ages. Through critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication, kids are able to learn through authentic learning experiences. Technology is a wonderful tool to incorporate in the investigation and gathering of information, but it is also the perfect tool for producing and creating projects that reflect the knowledge and understanding of the topics being presented. These types of authentic learning opportunities allow for higher student engagement and ultimately higher student achievement.
